If the walk feels like water-skiing, the collar is the problem.
A collar puts all the pulling force on your dog's throat, and on your shoulder. The Trailhead spreads it across the chest instead. It's light enough for a summer hike and reflective for the walk home in the dark.
Why you'll like it
- Designed to discourage pulling. Pressure goes to the chest, not the neck.
- Breathable polyester mesh. Padded where it touches and light enough for warm days.
- Reflective stitching. Shows up in headlights on early and late walks.
- Top handle. For a quick steadying hand at a road crossing or a creek.
- Adjustable straps. Dial in the fit once and clip it on in seconds.
Find the size
Measure around the widest part of your dog's ribcage, just behind the front legs.
| Size | Chest girth |
|---|---|
| S | 15.7 to 23.6 in (40 to 60 cm) |
| M | 21.7 to 27.6 in (55 to 70 cm) |
| L | 26 to 35.4 in (66 to 90 cm) |
| XL | 30.7 to 41.3 in (78 to 105 cm) |
Between two sizes? Go up. You should be able to slide two fingers under every strap.
